  2. 2. <ul><li>Sterile surgical gloves </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>Non-sterile latex gloves </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>Remember: hands are always held above the elbow </li></ul>1. After hand washing procedure open the package of sterile gloves
  5. 5. <ul><li>Remember: Any moisture could contaminate the gloves and make sure that the hands are held above the elbow </li></ul>2. Place the package of gloves on a clean dry surface
  6. 6. <ul><li>Make sure that the gloves are positioned accordingly </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>Some gloves are packed in an inner as well as an outer package. </li></ul>
  8. 9. <ul><li>Remember : the non-working hand is always held above the elbow </li></ul>3. Open the outer package w/o contaminating the gloves or inner package
  9. 10. <ul><li>Grasp the glove using the non-dominant hand, grab the cuff of the glove (on the palmar side) </li></ul>4. Put the first glove on the dominant hand
  10. 11. <ul><li>Insert the dominant hand into the glove </li></ul>Touch only the inside of the cuff
  11. 12. <ul><li>And pull the gloves on. Keep the thumb of the inserted hand against the palm of the hand during insertion </li></ul>
  12. 13. <ul><li>Remember: non working hand is always held above the elbows </li></ul>5. Put the second glove on the non-dominant hand
  13. 14. <ul><li>This time pick up the other glove with the sterile gloved hand, inserting the gloved fingers under the cuff. </li></ul>
  14. 15. <ul><li>Pull on the second glove carefully, do not let the gloved hand touch the arm </li></ul>
  15. 16. <ul><li>Adjust each glove carefully so that it fits smoothly , </li></ul>
  16. 17. <ul><li>and carefully pull the cuffs up by sliding the sliding the fingers under the cuff </li></ul>
  17. 18. <ul><li>After use remove and dispose used gloves </li></ul>
  18. 19. Removal of Gloves <ul><li>There is no specific technique for removing the gloves </li></ul><ul><li>Remove gloves by turning them inside out </li></ul>
  19. 20. Suggested technique <ul><li>Step 1- Plucking the palmar surface or anterior surface of the glove, it is done below the cuff of a contaminated glove </li></ul><ul><li>Step 2- remove the contaminated glove, roll it inside out, put it on the remaining gloved hand </li></ul><ul><li>Step 3- Insert the Index and middle finger inside the cuff of the second glove. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Remember: touching the outside surface of the 2 nd soiled glove with a bare hand is avoided </li></ul></ul>
  20. 21. <ul><li>Step 4- Pull the second glove off to the fingers by turning it inside out </li></ul><ul><li>Step 5- Dispose the contaminated glove properly </li></ul>
  21. 22. GLOVING TECHNIQUE- NON STERILE GLOVES
  22. 23. 1. There is no specific rules in putting on the non sterile gloves, just remember avoid contacts to a contaminated surface or area
  23. 24. <ul><li>Put on the glove to the non dominant hand </li></ul>
  24. 25. <ul><li>There is no specification whether you touch the cuff or the area under the cuff </li></ul>
  25. 26. <ul><li>Slide the fingers into the glove </li></ul>
  26. 27. <ul><li>Pull the glove so that it fit the palm </li></ul>
  27. 28. <ul><li>Do the same procedure to another hand </li></ul>
  28. 29. <ul><li>Do the same into the other hand </li></ul>
  29. 32. <ul><li>Check if the gloves fit smoothly into the hands </li></ul>
  30. 33. DONNING OF FACIAL MASK
  31. 34. <ul><li>Hold mask with color layer and ear loop fastener on the outside of the mask </li></ul>
  32. 35. <ul><li>Position the mask below the face </li></ul>
  33. 36. <ul><li>Secure the nose piece comfortably over the bridge of the nose </li></ul>
  34. 37. <ul><li>Pull the mask down fanning / extend the mask under the chin </li></ul>
  35. 38. <ul><li>Pull ear loops tight around the ears </li></ul>
  36. 39. <ul><li>Confirm mask if it is secure around the ear and face </li></ul>
  37. 40. <ul><li>A properly donned face mask </li></ul>
  38. 41. <ul><li>Check the attire – from the head cap to mask up to the gown. </li></ul>
