Laser Scanning with FARO Type of digitization that uses laser systems to capture data without touching the part. •  Includes white and blue light systems, as well as laser line probes, used with portable CMM’s. •  We will focus on those types of probes that can be used in tandem with an articulated arm (e.g. Laser Line Probes (LLPs)
  8. 8. Laser Scanning with FARO How Scanning Works •  A Laser Line Probe (LLP), a non-contact scanner, attached to a seven-axis FaroArm •  Laser projects a line onto object surface •  Camera determines the location for each point along the stripe •  Points are rendered in a point cloud
