Idols made of two different thing<br />Idols made of mud<br />First the sculptors made a basic structure of wood and wheat grass.<br />Then they put jute bags so that it helped in the drying of mud.<br />Then they applied mud(Punekimatti) on it and also applied clay.<br />Then they painted it with eco friendly colours. <br />Idols made of plaster of paris<br /> The sculptors used moulds for designing the idols.<br /> They applied oil and coated it with rubber sheets.<br /> They poured plaster of paris (POP) in the mould .<br /> Then they took out the idol and painted it with varnish .<br /> Finally, they painted it with plastic paints and oil paints which is harmful for our environment.<br />

  11. 11. WE AKSED THEM HOW THEY WERE AFFECTED BY THE SELLING OF POP IDOLS IN THE MARKET<br />THEY TOLD US THAT ALL THE SHOPS WHICH SOLD MUD IDOLS WERE LEFT FULL AS POP IDOLS WERE LIGHT CHEAP AND EASILY AVAILIBLE <br />

  14. 14. It is also called “Hadpakyaganesha”
  15. 15. The idols depict social problems in the society like the ongoing CommonWealth Games 2010 Delhi which hit the economy of our country.</li></li></ul><li>Telankhedi LakeNAGPUR<br />
  16. 16. Our experience !!<br /><ul><li>We went to Telankhedi Lake . There we saw people throwing bio degradable as well as non-bio degradable materials in the water which takes a lot of time to decompose that is flowers ,plastic bags, plastic ornaments of the idols etc
  17. 17. We started asking people whether there ganpatis were made of clay or plaster of paris(POP) and told them the disadvantages of using POP.
  18. 18. We also requested people not to throw plastic packets ,flowers ,coconuts etc into the water and also made them aware of the fact that they were polluting the water, harming the nature and thereby spoiling our city .</li></li></ul><li>When we requested , many people agreed to do so but some people gave us horrible response but we were able to convince them .<br />then we collected polythene bags scattered here and there and threw them in the allotted dustbins.<br />Then we stood at the entrance and requested the people to take out the garlands from the ganpati as they were harmful for the water .<br />
