(http://ducttape.me/TjMIHL) LinkedIn members did nearly 4.2 billion professionally-oriented searches on the platform in 2011 and are on pace to surpass 5.3 billion in 2012. (http://press.linkedin.com/about) As of August 2, 2012, LinkedIn operates the world’s largest professional network on the Internet with more than 175 million members in over 200 countries and territories. Drive traffic to your website, blog, or cross pollinate other social media platforms. Increase search engine optimization (S.E.O.). Get past business connection gate keepers with personal introductions. Underscore business experience and validity. Be recognized in your field. Turn a digital connection into real life connections.

Announce event happenings. And more!
  • 6. Linkedin.com Personal Profile must haves A clear, professional head shot so people will know who you are when you meet in person. The image can be from the shoulders up in what you would wear to work. Professional photography is not mandatory, if the image meets these standards. Add all the ways people might reach you and best times to call. Provide a career summary, current employer, skills and expertise. We recommend requesting endorsements and recommendations to validate your experience.
  • 7. Linkedin.com Personal Profile Paid vs. Free Personal Profile Free Personal Profile Get your name and business experience out there, only if you post the information. Able to join groups and network within them to the 2nd degree of connection. To work beyond the 2nd degree, find someone who is linked on the 1st degree and ask for a introduction or invite them to a Group you belong. Link to your Business Profile. Paid Personal Profile (click the link to review paid options) There are currently four profile options with increasing ways to connect, including Free. If you’re a recruiter or “dialing for dollars” a Paid Profile will provide more connection details. Share the latest news that relates to the reason your group was formed and would be of interest “underlining” your on top of your business game. Insights highlight Business Profile activities. Business Profiles, what can be done: Employees listing the business will automatically be listed. Everything (but Insights) can be entered by the Business Profile “administrator.”
