After completing my Masters Degree in English literature and history (in Rennes, France) in 1992, I
lived and worked in the UK (London) for three years. I moved to South Africa in 1995 and have
been a permanent resident in Cape Town for 20 years. I initially worked as a translator and
Personal Assistant to the managing director of a Cape Town-based French-South African venture. I
have been a full time freelance translator since 1999.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
1999 - 2015: Translation into English or French of articles and books in the field of social
science: economics, sociology, management, finance, psychoanalysis, geography,
political science, sustainable development etc.
General Translation: English to French translation of documents in various fields,
for translation agencies, civil engineering companies, travel agencies, etc.
1995 - 1999: Technical translation (engineering) and administrative duties for TENESA (PTY Ltd)
1992 – 1995: Reservation manager and hostess at Westpoint Hotel (London)

academic journals.
