Associate of Applied Science: Addiction Counseling
Colby Community College offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Addiction Counseling. The AAS
degree consists of the general education courses offered by the college and a course study that is approved for
Addiction and Prevention Services (AAPS) credential requirements. Successful completion of 62 hours of college
credit (15 are core general education courses and 47 credits are didactic courses) is required to meet the minimum
requirements for the AAS in Addiction Counseling degree. Upon completion of these requirements for the AAS in
Addiciton Counseling degree. Upon completion of these requirements the student will submit an application to the
SRS/AAPS office for evaluation.
Students should be aware that the converted clock hours for the specialization and related contextual courses may
or may not be transferable to a four-year college/university upon issuance of a degree from Colby Community
College. The authority for determining whether credits are acceptable rests with the four-year college or university.
