What is SEO? <ul><li>SEO is the process of driving traffic to your website from search engines. </li></ul><ul><li>The higher Google ranks a website the better- as people will only look at the first page on any Google Search page. </li></ul><ul><li>GoogleBots (google’s spiders) trawl the web and look through every website to see if the content is good quality- the higher the quality of the content the higher Goolgle will rank the website. </li></ul>

Benefits of SEO <ul><li>Increases the traffic on a website </li></ul><ul><li>Increases the monetary value of a site </li></ul><ul><li>Increases a company’s awareness and brand </li></ul><ul><li>Increases the amount of advertisers who will want to place ad’s on a site- resulting in huge revenue for a company </li></ul>

The use of AdSense in SEO <ul><li>AdSense is the use of placing ads for your site on another relevant sites- for example a small book store owner may place an ad for their store on Amazon.com </li></ul><ul><li>Will ensure that online businesses are reaching their target market when their target market is actually looking for a product/service they sell. </li></ul><ul><li>AdSense is the online method of Target Adverting </li></ul><ul><li>Latent Symatec Indexing(LSI) is present in AdSense whereby this process will understand which words are related to a title, eg LSI will know that the word ‘Barcelone’ is related to ‘holidays in Spain’ </li></ul>

The Use of AdWords in SEO <ul><li>Adwords is the other side of the coin to AdSense- AdWords is based on keywords, which are words or phrases related to your business </li></ul><ul><li>AdWords offer Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising for both text and banner ads, also offers Click-Throughout-Rate(CTR) . </li></ul><ul><li>PPC- is a method where each time your site is clicked you have to pay Google </li></ul><ul><li>CTR- is the method where you agree to pay a fixed amount of money to Google for the use of this service, regardless of how many hits your ad receives. </li></ul>

The Use of Keywords <ul><li>Keywords are the most important aspect of SEO </li></ul><ul><li>The more relevant you keywords are to your site the higher Google will rank your site </li></ul><ul><li>The use of Flash technology, and the use of images as part of your keywords are risky ventures- be sure you are aware of your target markets needs. </li></ul><ul><li>Ensure your keywords are relevant- if they are not both your target market and the GoogleBots will be annoyed and either remove your site or decrease your Google ranking. </li></ul>

Web Analytics <ul><li>Web Analytics is the study of the behaviour of every individual visitor to your website in order to improve it. </li></ul><ul><li>For example you can track your visitors geographical location, demographics (such as age, gender, martial status, etc) also you can check which page on your website is generating the most traffic to your site. </li></ul><ul><li>Great way to view your target markets preferences and then you can monitor your site to encourage traffic and increase revenue for your site. </li></ul>

SEO: A Conclusion <ul><li>Relevant Keywords are crutial to SEO </li></ul><ul><li>Never forget Content is King </li></ul><ul><li>GoogleBot’s spiders trawl the web 1,000 of them at a time every minute of the day, the more information rich your website, and the speed at which new information is uploaded to your site the more GoogleBot will trawl your site and this will result in a higher ranking on Google. </li></ul><ul><li>So important to monitor all the traffic to your site, to ensure you are capturing your target market and also to keep an eye for new trends in the market. </li></ul>
