I am an active student athlete here at Creekview. Ihave been privileged to play varsity baseball for three years. I also am currently an activemember in the Friends Club. I am the son of Kevin and Kate Degen. I have two oldersisters as well, Cayla and Christy Degen. For my senior project I have chosen to turn afellow class mate into a much healthier man. My main goal of this project was to see if Iwould like to fulfill person training as a career later in life. My product was my best friend Kase Gibbs. He is a senior here at Creekview aswell. He is an overly larger 18 year old. For my project, Kase and I worked out forseveral weeks trying to get him to lose weight. For my research paper I choose the topicof childhood obesity and teenage obesity. I learn several mind blowing facts throughoutthis research. I choose to research this because Kase is an obese teenager and it relates tomy senior project. I also faced several obstacles in my weight loss process with Kase. The main obstacle was find time for both of us to be able to work out and to find a placeto work out at. The second main obstacle was for Kase to actually lose weight. Overallmy product did lose weight and made it un our goal of 200 pounds. My main purpose of this product was to figure out if I would like to go into thefield of person training or not. I personally like to work out and to stay fit so I thoughtthat I would like to be a person trainer when I grow up. Throughout my process oftraining Kase for several weeks I found out that I did enjoy working out and pushingsomeone else to become a better person. Therefore I would like to pursue a career as aperson trainer. I am going to Georgia Southern next year and I am going into the work-study program to be a person trainer I think that the senior project was a good idea and should stay in school andspread to every school. It is such a good learning experience for young adults. Although Ijust wish I wouldn’t have waited so long to do each step of the project. Thank you foryour time and patience.Sincerely,Eric Degen
