  2. 2. What Is Cloud Computing ? In computer networking, cloud computing is computing that involves a large number of computers connected through a communication network such as the Internet. In science, cloud computing is a synonym for distributed computing over a network, and means the ability to run a program or application on many connected computers at the same time.

Cloud Software As A Service (SAAS) • Software services are applications or components that can be used as an end application or used as part of a custom solution . • SaaS service-model involves the cloud provider installing and maintaining software in the cloud and users running the software from their cloud clients over the Internet. The users' client machines require no installation of any application-specific software - cloud applications run on the server (in the cloud). • One of the biggest benefits of SAAS is, of course, costing less money than buying the application outright.

Cloud Platform As A Service (PAAS) • Platform services offer a ready built infrastructure and application frameworks that can be used for building and running applications. • PAAS supplies all the resources required to build applications and services completely from the internet, without having to download or install software. • PAAS services includes application design, testing and development. Other services include team collaboration, web service integration ,database , security scalability , storage.

Cloud Infrastructure As A Service (IAAS) • IaaS clouds often offer additional resources such as a virtual-machine disk image library, file-based storage, firewalls, load balancers, IP addresses, virtual local area networks, and software bundles. • IaaS-cloud providers supply these resources on-demand from their large pools installed in data centres. For wide- area connectivity customers can use either the Internet or carrier clouds. • To deploy their applications, cloud users install operating-system images and their application software on the cloud infrastructure.

When it's offline, you're offline.  Security in the Cloud - The other major issue while in the cloud is that of security issues. Before adopting this technology, you should know that you will be surrendering all your company’s sensitive information to a third-party cloud service provider. Hence, you need to make absolutely sure that you choose the most reliable service provider, who will keep your information totally secure.
  11. 11. Recent In Cloud Computing • Backend as a service (BaaS) is a model for providing web and mobile app developers with a way to link their applications to backend cloud storage while also providing features such as user management and integration with social networking services.
