Raise the Barn. Grow the Community! …

Raise the Barn. Grow the Community!

West Niagara Agricultural Society (WNAS) is currently building the West Niagara Agricultural Centre with a projected completion date of the fall of 2014. WNAS has the funds to build, construction is in progress.

In the days of old, the barn-raising was the way the community came together to help their fellow farmer.
WNAS is seeking this type of support… for the community to come together to help their fellow farmers!

By helping WNAS Raise the Barn,
we will all be helping to Grow the Community!

WNAS Goal: $1,500,000

The West Niagara Agricultural Society (W.N.A.S.) is a member based non-profit charitable organization. Incorporated in 1857 under the Agricultural and Horticultural Organizations Act, changing the name in 2012. As outlined in the Act, the objects of an agricultural society are to encourage an awareness of agriculture and to promote improvements in the quality of life of persons living in an agricultural community by,

a. researching the needs of the agricultural community and developing programs to meet those needs;
b. holding agricultural exhibitions featuring competitions for which prizes may be awarded;
c. promoting the conservation of natural resources;
d. encouraging the beautification of the agricultural community;
e. supporting and providing facilities to encourage activities intended to enrich rural life; and
f. conducting or promoting horse races when authorized to do so by a by-law of the society. R.S.O. 1990, c. A.9, s. 28.

Charitable tax receipts are available in most cases.
