Made by: Jennifer Escobar
Linares.
Verizon Wireless traces its roots to Bell Atlantic Mobile, NYNEX Mobile Communications, Air Touch Communications, Prime Co Communications, and GTE Mobil net. Bell Atlantic Mobile and NYNEX Mobile Communications merged in 1995 to create Bell Atlantic - NYNEX Mobile,[6] and in 1997 their namesake Baby Bell parents followed suit to form the new Bell Atlantic and their wireless subsidiary was renamed Bell Atlantic Mobile. Bell Atlantic Mobile and NYNEX Mobile Communications were created from Advanced Mobile Phone Service, Inc., which was a subsidiary of AT&T created in 1978 to provide cellular service nationwide. AMPS, Inc. was divided among the RBOCs as part of the Bell System Divestiture.
The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide. It is a network of networks that consists of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks, of local to global scope, that are linked by a broad array of electronic, wireless and optical networking technologies. The Internet carries a vast range of information resources and services, such as the inter-linked hypertext documents of the World Wide Web and the infrastructure to support electronic mail. An Internet service provider (ISP) is a company that provides access to the Internet. Access ISPs connect customers to the Internet using copper, wireless or fiber connections. Hosting ISPs lease server space for smaller businesses and host other people servers’ collocation Transit ISPs provide large tubes for connecting.
A communications satellite (sometimes abbreviated to COMSAT) is an artificial satellite stationed in space for the purpose of telecommunications. Modern communications satellites use a variety of orbits including geostationary orbits, Molina orbits, other elliptical orbits and low (polar and non-polar) Earth orbits. For fixed (point-to-point) services, communications satellites provide a microwave radio relay technology complementary to that of submarine communication cables. They are also used for mobile applications such as communications to ships, vehicles, planes and hand-held terminals, and for TV and radio broadcasting, for which application of other technologies, such as cable, is impractical or impossible.
Telecommunications and meteorology
Meteorology is the science that studies atmospheric phenomena, especially those that relate to weather. Meteorologists who forecast the weather rely on thousands of weather stations located around the world, both on land and at sea. At each station, measurements are taken of such things as air pressure and temperature, wind speed, cloud cover, and precipitation. Elsewhere, upper-level observations are made by weather balloons, and satellites, which send a continuous flow of photographs back to earth. All of this information is sent to national weather centers where it is plotted on charts and analyzed by meteorologists. This information, called a forecast, is then sent to the public by newspapers, radio and television. Meteorology is important because we are learning about our atmosphere, the weather, and the things that shape our world. It helps us learn more about how to predict natural disasters and prevent more destruction....meteorology is very
helpful and a great part of science...and also a super fun field to work in.
