Client Profile Overview

The CIIB’s programmes to assist local entrepreneurs have been met with tremendous support
over the last few years. As shown in Figure 1 below, the number of local clients jumped by
roughly 146% from 2006/07 to 2007/08, followed by a 17% decrease in 2008/09.
Over 430 local clients have registered with the CIIB in the past 4 years. Including entrepreneurs
that have participated in at least one of the CIIB sponsored workshops/seminars, the total
number of entrepreneurs/business owners that have utilized the CIIB’s services has now past
1,000 individuals.
Assistance provided to foreign investors has been relatively stable, with over 310 individuals
having contacted the CIIB for assistance over the past 4 years.

In terms of the primary industry in which CIIB clients operate, the majority of clients are involved
in some way with tourism (roughly 55%). Agriculture, manufacturing and construction combined
account for roughly 15%, while business services account for roughly 11%. Figure 2 below
shows the profile of all clients for the past 4 years in terms of primary industry.
