  3. 3. Exposition This is the beginning of the story It creates the tone It introduces the setting and characters It presents facts necessary to facilitate the understanding of the story
  4. 4. Rising Action A series of events leading up to the climax These events give rise to conflict/s
  5. 5. Conflicts Conflicts are problems or complications There are five main types of conflicts:  Man vs. man  Man vs. himself  Man vs. society  Man vs. nature  Man vs. supernatural
  6. 6. Climax It is the result of the crisis This is the turning point of the story. It is the high point of the story It is generally somewhere in the middle of the story
  7. 7. Falling Action This includes events after the climax These events lead to the resolution
  8. 8. Resolution This is otherwise called the Denouement This is the end of the story This is where all loose ends are tied up
