      • Q & A
    • Companies can no longer ignore the impact social networking sites are having in business. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and blogs are some of the most popular platforms being used.
      • How are companies using social media?
      • As an effective marketing tool
      • To help grow company awareness online and develop customer evangelists
      • To assist in recruiting efforts
      • As a listening tool, help with customer service
      • To increase leads that can be converted to sales
    • The benefits of social media marketing:
    • Statistics don’t lie. Social media’s popularity:
      • It took radio 38 years to reach 50 million listeners. Terrestrial TV took 13 years to reach 50 million users. The internet took four years to reach 50 million people. In less than nine months, Facebook added 100 million users.
      • Twitter’s website attracted 44.5 million unique visitors worldwide in June 2009, according to comScore.
      • 80% of companies use (or are planning to use), LinkedIn as their primary recruiting tool during this year. The site has just celebrated its 50 millionth membership.
      • 64% of marketers use social media for 5 hours or more each week during campaigns; 39% use it for 10 or more hours per week.
    • Twitter’s recent growth as a social networking site
    • What does all this mean for business?
      • Questions to help determine if now is the right time to implement a social media plan:
      • What do you want to achieve?
      • Who are you targeting?
      • How does your target audience use social media?
      • How should you come across?
      • Are you ready for a long engagement?
      • Does social media fit your organization’s culture?
      • Don’t rush into it without proper planning or you’ll most likely waste a lot of time and money!
    • Companies are communicating differently with their customers, clients, and prospects. This shift is due to several factors:
      • The internet’s wide reach among the growing number of networking sites
      • Word of mouth is more important than ever, especially with shrinking marketing budgets
      • The viral nature of great content and the understanding of distribution streams to share the content
      • Consumers are making purchasing decisions from their trusted networks rather than from advertising
      • Listening tools enable easier monitoring of our brands
    • A social media scenario:
      • Joe Shopper walks into your business, has a poor experience and documents this injustice on his flip video. He quickly uploads to YouTube and shares with his extensive network. Members of his network forward the message to their networks , hitting all the major networking sites in the process. Before you know it, thousands of people are talking poorly about your brand, product, or service.
      • Luckily your company has implemented a social media strategy and is proficient at using listening tools.
      • You are quick to respond by apologizing and offering to help resolve any issues this customer has with your company.
      • You quickly turn a negative situation into a positive outcome that ends up strengthening your company’s brand in the eyes of many.
    • There are over 650 social networking sites worldwide. Knowing which sites to use and the various tools and applications available are essential.
      • Is your target consumer local, regional, national, or international?
      • Social networking sites and platforms on which we will focus:
      • LinkedIn
      • Facebook
      • Twitter
      • YouTube
      • Ustream/ live streaming video
      • Blogs
    • LinkedIn
    • LinkedIn can be used in a variety of ways
      • Company page enables additional online presence and search capabilities beyond your website.
      • Prospecting through people search, Q & A search, and company search.
      • Recruit passive and active candidates through profile searches.
      • Use as a distribution stream to share messages through updates, links, and applications.
      • Demonstrate your expertise through Q & A, presentations, and testimonials.
      • Create events and get additional exposure through your network when members respond.

      • The Sales Matrix recently launched a new website and used Twitter as the primary communication tool. Our message was shared by several people, including one major influencer.
      • Result :
      • Over 140 hits to our website on the first day
    • YouTube
    • YouTube is one of the most powerful marketing platforms on the web when used correctly.
      • Comscore recently revealed that the popular social network YouTube has reached 100 million viewers. Internet viewers watched 14.8 billion online videos in January 2009 alone.
      • We’ve all heard the term “Viral Video.” What does that mean?
      • The amount of time web users spent viewing videos on social-networking sites increased nearly 100% from a year ago.
    • UStream
    • Facebook is set to launch Live Stream Box, a feature that will enable live video and chat on Facebook pages. UStream will provide selected Facebook users with the ability to broadcast live video.
      • As both mobile and social trends gain ground, we can expect even more activity in live streaming.
      • There's also a huge amount of live video streaming among enterprises, educational institutions and government agencies.
      • Ideal for conferences, events, product launches, etc.
    • Blogs
    • Blogs are becoming a more popular way for businesses to inform and connect with their consumers. A chronological posting of conversational style entries, blogs are a great way to share ideas, connect with similarly minded audiences on the web, and enter into a dialogue with followers of your business, product or service.
