Handled NIS domain consisting of 3 HP-UX 11 servers (N4000s) and 4 other systems (L2000s)
running HP-UX 11 and sharing NFS disks. NIS domain had MC service guard for multiple
applications (Datapower, Adexa and Oracle) to failover. Performance tuning, problem resolving
was carried out proactively from system messages (/var/adm/messages). Performed user
management, printer management. Monitored disk space and memory, CPU utilization using
SAR and Glance in critical plant environment. Prepared korn shell scripts to automate system
backups using system level commands and prepared documentation for this and also designed
off-site backup procedures. Performed patch installations. Identified un-used and un-configured
hardware, lying in the system and saved customer to the tune of $40,000. Resolved technical
issues with FLEXlm License sharing software (from Globetrotter) used by Datapower application
