  • 1. C H A P T E R 2 Installing Multilevel Administration Access Multilevel administration access designates a separate executable that is available from the Cisco Connection Online (CCO). You can download and install multilevel administration access only after Cisco CallManager version 3.3(4) or later has been installed. Chapter 2 Installing Multilevel Administration Access Installing Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access Perform the following procedure to download the executable from the web: Step 1 Log in to Windows2000. Step 2 Use a web browser to access the following URL: http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/callmgr-33 Step 3 Locate the MultiLevelAdmin Access application and download the file ciscocmmla-ffr.1-2-3.exe. Step 4 Continue with the installation procedure. See the procedure in the “Installing Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access” section on page 2-2. Follow the instructions in the “Upgrading Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access” section on page 2-6. Multilevel administration access installs on Cisco CallManager version 3.3(4) database publisher and subscriber(s) servers. Multilevel administration access installation creates a separate multilevel administration access database. This database gets replicated from the publisher to the subscribers on which multilevel administration access is installed. For failover of Cisco CallManager Administration and Serviceability with multilevel administration access, ensure that multilevel administration access is installed separately on the subscriber servers. Chapter 2 Installing Multilevel Administration Access Installing Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access If the multilevel administration access database on the publisher server is down, multilevel administration access makes connection to the subscriber local multilevel administration access database with read-only access, and no modification to the multilevel administration access database can occur. Multilevel administration access installation sets up the CCMAdmin and CCMService virtual directories with Anonymous Access for the Local NT administrator. This section describes how to install the multilevel administration access on a user PC. Note After downloading the multilevel administration access executable, install it on the database publisher server. If redundancy is desired, install the executable on one or more subscriber servers. Note After installing multilevel administration access, you must log in as CCMAdministrator with the password that you provided during the install. Your old Administrator password will no longer work. Procedure Step 1 Double-click the downloaded file to launch the installer. Step 2 If you want to restore MLA data from the MLA 1.1(1) database, answer Yes to the install question “Do you have a Multilevel Admin 1.1(1) database to be restored?” Otherwise, answer No. If you have not backed up the MLA 1.1(1) database, install will prompt you to do so before continuing. Step 3 Click Next at the Welcome to the MLA Installation Wizard window. The License screen displays. Step 4 To accept the license agreement, click Yes. Step 5 Enter the Local System Administrator account information: Userid: Administrator Password: Step 6 Click Next. Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access Guide OL-5479-01 2-3

Chapter 2 Installing Multilevel Administration Access Installing Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access Step 7 Enter CCMAdministrator password: Password: Confirm Password: Step 8 Click Next. If the SQL System Administrator password is blank, Install displays a warning: Your SQL SA password is blank. For security reasons, please change it. Skip to step 13. Otherwise, a dialog for entering the password appears. Step 9 Enter SQL System Administrator account information: User ID: sa Password: Step 10 Click OK. If the System Administrator password is wrong, Install displays an error message: Please enter the correct SQL SA password. Return to step 9. Step 11 Click Next. The screen displays the Installation Directory information. Step 12 Enter Multilevel Admin Base information, the directory search base for MLA user groups. Install displays the default base, which can be changed if needed. Step 13 Click Next. The Reboot dialog displays. For synchronization of Local System Administrator password changes, click Yes to reboot the server immediately, or click No to reboot later. Click Finish on the dialog that displays when Install completes. Chapter 2 Installing Multilevel Administration Access Uninstalling Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access Uninstalling Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access The uninstall deletes the CCMAdmin and CCMService virtual directories and re-creates them with Basic Authentication as it existed prior to multilevel administration access installation. Multilevel administration access uninstall restores the Cisco CallManager configuration to its state prior to multilevel administration access installation. Note After uninstalling multilevel administration access, you must use the local NT Administrator account to log in to Cisco CallManager Administration. Chapter 2 Installing Multilevel Administration Access Upgrading Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access user groups and functional groups or create custom groups and assign privileges. After you have done so, any directory user belonging to a user group can log in to Cisco CallManager Administration and Cisco CallManager Serviceability pages with appropriate privileges. When installing support patches and engineering specials for Cisco CallManager, you must also install a corresponding support patch or engineering special for Multilevel Administration Access. Chapter 2 Installing Multilevel Administration Access Upgrading Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access Upgrading from MLA 1.1(1) Database to MLA 1.2(3) Database Perform the procedures that follow when upgrading from MLA 1.1(1) database to MLA 1.2(3) database. You need to complete two procedures to upgrade from MLA 1.1(1) database to MLA 1.2(3) database: • Backing Up the MLA 1.1(1) Database, page 2-7 • Restoring the MLA 1.1(1) Database Upon Installing Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access 1.2(3), page 2-8 Backing Up the MLA 1.1(1) Database Use the following procedure to back up the MLA 1.1(1) database. Perform this procedure prior to installing or upgrading to a new version of Cisco CallManager. Procedure Step 1 Choose Start > Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 > Enterprise Manager. Step 2 Expand the Microsoft SQL Server tree. Step 3 Expand the SQL Servers Group tree. Step 4 Expand the your hostname tree. Step 5 Expand the Databases tree. Step 6 Click MLADB0101. Step 7 In the right frame, click backup database. Step 8 In the Destinations field, click Add. Step 9 Specify the file name for the backup as C:MLADB0101.dmp. Step 10 To return to the SQL Server Backup window, click Ok. Step 11 To start backup, click Ok. Chapter 2 Installing Multilevel Administration Access Upgrading Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access Restoring the MLA 1.1(1) Database Upon Installing Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access 1.2(3) Use the following procedure to restore the MLA 1.1(1) database when you install Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access 1.2(3). Procedure Step 1 Copy the backed up file to the server where you have installed Cisco CallManager 3.3 and are going to install Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access 1.2(3). Place the file in the same location and use the same filename (C:MLADB0101.dmp). Step 2 While installing Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access 1.2(3), answer Yes when you are asked whether you want to restore the MLA 1.1(1) database. Backing Up and Restoring the MLA 1.2(3) Database The Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access database does not get backed up automatically when you back up the Cisco CallManager database. The MLA database resides in a separate database, MLADB0102. Chapter 2 Installing Multilevel Administration Access Upgrading Cisco CallManager Multilevel Administration Access Backing Up the MLA 1.2(3) Database Use the following procedure to back up the MLA 1.2(3) database. Procedure Step 1 Go to C:CiscowebsMLAinstall directory. Step 2 Run the backup.bat with the directory and filename where you want the database to be backed up. Use the SQL system administrator user password (sa). Example: backup.bat c:backup MLADBbkup **** Restoring the MLA 1.2(3) Database You must use the following procedure to restore the MLA 1.2(3) database. Note Use this procedure only if the database has been backed up already. See the procedure in the “Backing Up the MLA 1.2(3) Database” section on page 2-9. Procedure Step 1 Go to C:CiscowebsMLAinstall directory. Step 2 Run the restore.bat with the filename from where you want the database to be restored (that is, the backup filename).
