Tequila is a distilled spirit that is produced
only in Mexico, and only then in the region
of Tequila. Juice from the heart of the agave
plant is fermented and distilled twice to
make tequila. The production of Tequila has
to be in compliance with stringent
regulations put forth by the Mexican
government.

Cinco de Mayo is an important
date in the history of Mexico: the
commemoration of the Battle of
Puebla. It marks the first time the
Mexican Army could defeat a
foreign power better prepared, in
this case the French. The battle
took place in the present city of
Puebla de Zaragoza on May
5, 1862, between the armies of
Mexico and France.
