1. Being ‘real’Mathematicians
I was counting the number of holes in my shoe. I got up to 43.
We were counting the 100 chart. It was easy.
I was counting the bricks. It was tricky because there were a lot. I got up to 120.
We were counting shoes or feet.
I counted the poles. There were 7.
I counted the pieces of wood on the chair. There was forty-something. Ialso counted the windows. There were 24.
I counted the little drain holes on theside of the multi. It was tricky to count because there were lots of them!
We counted acorns.
We counted the blue poles on thefence. There were 160. It was kind oftricky because we kept skipping themand we kept getting lost.
I counted seats.
I counted leaves. I counted 100 but I couldn’t count them all.
This is how many trees we counted.
I counted how many steps around the circle.
We counted the bricks. There were168 in this sections. We used the chalk to keep track of which ones we had counted.
I counted how many bumps. I used myhands to keep track of which one I was up to.
There was lots of amazing counting.The children were so engaged it was hard to get them back inside. They were just bursting with news and reports of what they had counted.
