An employer sponsored group supplemental
insurance plan designed to help reduce the cost of
group medical coverage.
o Modify current benefit plan to a “high deductible”
(4k – 5k) health insurance plan
o Add “FULLY INSURED” HRA coverage to
cover the increased deductible and coinsurance.
o Pays off the underlying major medical plan
EOB, and it pays benefits directly to the provider.
o Plan has a supplemental deductible and co-
insurance per insured person that must be satisfied
before benefits paid.
o Plan pays benefits described in the policy until the
payments reach the Maximum Benefit Amount.
