  • DanLockton Dan Lockton , Designer / Engineer / Researcher at Brunel University I should also say, the idea of the pattern descriptions being phrased as questions, e.g. 'Can you give users different options depending on how they behave?' comes from Nedra Kline Weinreich's excellent 'Design Approach for Behavior Change Worksheet' - http://www.slideshare.net/weinreich/design-approach-worksheet - itself drawing on my Design with Intent toolkit (http://www.designwithintent.co.uk ).

I think Nedra's approach - explicitly asking designers questions to get them to explore their ideas and how the patterns might apply - is probably a good way to trigger concept generation.

  • DanLockton Dan Lockton , Designer / Engineer / Researcher at Brunel University OK - Slideshare doesn't seem to respect line breaks in comments so the transcript looks awful if I post it actually as a comment.

Here is is as a text file: http://research.danlockton.co.uk/dfp_transcript.txt

  • DanLockton Dan Lockton , Designer / Engineer / Researcher at Brunel University Thanks Arjan.

I guess my presentation as uploaded here doesn't make too much sense without the transcript (or audio) so I will get round to typing up my notes for it as soon as I can, and put them here.
