  5. Banks sold loans and credit risks to investors called Securitization .
  6. Why?

  9. The Financial Perfect Storm
  10. Dramatically cut interest rates
  11. encouraged more borrowing.

  14. House prices increased at a much higher rate to median household income
  15. House prices became unaffordable
  16. In 2005
  17. 43% …of 1st time buyers made no down payments at all.
  18. People with poor credit found it…
  19. difficult to pay their mortgage.
  20. Properties with foreclosure activities.
  21. The two giants in securitization…
  22. collapsed.
  23. Wall Street was Greedy .
  24. Short term profit was more important than the good of the people.
  25. Chief Executive Lehman Brothers Richard S. Fuld, Jr. Earned $34.4 million in 2007.
  26. declared bankruptcy.
  27. Congress did not act in time.
  28. We all pay the price.
