Nothing must be arbitrary or left to chance. Care and accuracy in the design process show respect towards the user.
Honest – O.K., I know it’s a strange way of talking about design to first years, but the student needs to know that they have to design sincerely, they have to put a genuine effort into creating a good design, they can’t just throw something together, they have to “believe” in their design.
