Beginning in 2011 a National curriculum will finally be implemented in phases. This paper mentions some of the issues raised with a new National Curriculum and compares some important elements of ACARA (The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and reporting Authority) to the IBO (International Baccalaureate Organisation) and the Programmes that are offered by the respective bodies. A comparison of the two organisations will involve elements of curriculum, organisational roles, internationalism, mobility, media perceptions and other relevant issues.
