    • Omega 3 and 6 Fatty Acids are considered ESSENTIAL in a healthy diet!!
    • MUFA is that fat that is good for you
    • Your body can’t make MUFA it must be obtained by the food you eat!!
    • They stop the bad fats that you eat from accumulating

    • U nsaturated
    • F atty
    • A cids
  • 5. The results of eating MUFA
    • It can help if you have diabetes
    • MUFA helps you create a stronger and healthier heart
    • Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids play a curtail role in brain function
    • Also they help with normal growth and development
  • 6. A healthy dinner
    • A healthy dinner should include a rainbow of colors!!
    • To start a piece of whole grain bread
    • 1 serving of chicken
    • Roasted carrots and beans as a vegetable
    • Cut up strawberries with whipped cream for dessert!
  • 7. The food pyramid
    • When looking at the Food Pyramid you can see that you need less Oils or Fats and more Grains or Vegetables
    • Also that exercise is VERY important!! Just as much as the foods you eat!
  • 8. Seven healthy Snacks
    • Peanuts – help you heart be healthy
    • Bananas – Good source of Vitamin C and B6
    • Dried fruit – Iron , potassium and Vitamin A
    • Grapes – Help prevent narrowing and hardening of arteries
    • Mandarin - Heart healthy (can lower risks of heart disease)
    • Popcorn – Fiber (lowers risk of some cancers)
    • Apples – Have potassium
