Growing Up
Christopher Emmanuel Paul was born May 6, 1985 in Winston-Salem, NC. He grew up playing basketball and made his high school team.
In one of his high school basketball games in 2002, he scored 61 points as a tribute to his 61 year old grandfather who had been murdered the day before. He missed a free throw intentionally and left the game to get this number and has ’61’ engraved on his shoes.
