  1. 1. SOCIAL MEDIA ANALYSISThis document analyzes the Facebook Pages or Groups of state associa-tions in DECA’s Central Region. Central Region Vice President MicahMelling collected initial data on these pages/groups on September 30, 2011.He obtained final data on March 31, 2012 and then performed a quantifiableanalysis of each state’s page. He also conducted an overall review for theregion using the data from each page. Additionally, a brief overview of Twit-ter accounts in the Central Region is provided. Considering data from all FacebookPages/Groups, Central Region DECA saw its Facebook presence increase by39% from September 30, 2011 to March 31, 2012. Individually, many stateassociations saw their number of Facebook “likes” dramatically increase.Also, the Twitter presence of many state associations in the Central Region is“up and coming.” Without question, the states in the Central Region continueto rapidly spread their message using social media.
