1. Pitch for film opening
Location: outside abandon bar
Time: 11am
Setting: Sunny Monday morning
Storyline
7 people had gone missing and 1 death at a local abandoned bar which lead
detective inspector Richard Dawkins to investigate. The deeper he digs into the
case the less sense it makes until he goes to the abandoned bar. He quickly finds
out that things are not quite what they would seem.
Outline for opening scene
Scene opens into a crime scene Detective Richard Dawkins Boston PD is looking
at a newspaper. The camera has a close up of his face and we can see he headline
which shows the death of a 19 year old, died. The 19 year old was called Jeffery
burns. The detective then looks up and sees the crime seen (POV). The deputy
comes up and talks to him about the crime scene. The detective takes out his
notepad and he takes note. The deputy explains that it was a knife crime.
The crime scene has yellow tape around a chalk outline of where the body was.
The detective looks at the crime scene and he tells his idea of what happened. He
goes onto explaining that he thinks then victim did not actually commit suicide
but she was actually mudded. He looks up at a closed window and says “I think
that the lad was chucked out of the window. The inspector then takes out his
notepad and continues on with the idea. The inspector then tells the detective
about the history of the building. He explains that there have been a series of
deaths at the bar and he says that the building is haunted. The detective reply’s
“outa the whole time I have been working as a detective not once have I came
across a ghost, so quit fooling around and actually get me a piece of rea.
Evidence, I refuse to believe in such nonsense. The detective walks of into the
building. The inspector is left to deal with the press which are taking photos of
the scene. He tells theme there is no story here just tragedy so jars push of will
yah”. Then the detective’s voice is heard in the background. The inspector turns
around and looks up at the window. He says “this window was shut, meaning
someone would have had to have been here before the or after the victim, this
means that the killer must have been here to close the windows after he had
chucked her out of the window”. The inspector replies “very good sir” the
detective then closes the window and he looks arpund for clues in the room. The
camera then turns to and in the door frame you can see the outline of a figure.
The door starts to squeak and the detective turns around. He catches a glimpse
of the figure.
