    you mentioin sports, friendship & family ... there is a unique position to focus on ... highlighting the connections between these areas. maybe you look at how sports (probably a lot of amateur sport) family life, friendships all impact each other or cross pollinate to make life richer?

    • My Goal is to create an accurate and consistent representation of myself through various online mediums with the intent of starting a career in sports related Public Relations.
  3. Brand Positioning
    • While I wish to be known for my PR professionalism and sports enthusiasm, I also want to convey my personal values of friendship and family.
  4. What’s the deal?
    • To gain entrance into a linked in group that combines my interest in both PR and sports
    • To connect with 25 people on twitter that represent my brand
    • To get a job in Public Relations by fall of 2010
    • To engage outsiders into our Ning discussion page on sports
  5. Personal SWOT
    • STRENGTHS
    • I am very outgoing. I can communication with others and network without any hesitations.
    • I am able to adapt well in situations which may seem challenging at first
    • I am a very hard worker, especially when I have others relying on me to get things done
    • I am a great listener, and am always open to others ideas and eager to hear other’s opinions on certain topics
    • WEAKNESSES
    • I find it difficult to say no to people and sometimes take on too many tasks
    • I am not afraid to give my opinion and stand up for what I think is right
    • I can get slightly impatient if other team members are not all working at the same pace
    • I find it hard to delegate work to others when they are available even when I have a lot on my plate
    • OPPORTUNITIES
    • By communicating with PR professionals now, I will be able to establish relationships before I apply for jobs
    • My knowledge in sports will help motivate me to pursue my goals
    • By taking a class in Social Media, I will have an advantage when applying for jobs
    • THREATS
    • By concentrating on one field of PR, I may be closing myself off to other opportunities
    • Due to heavy workloads in school, it may become difficult to keep my online brand updated
    • If I brand myself incorrectly, it could take a long time to adjust my brand

    • Use facebook, blogs, forums, twitter, ning and other sites to not only display my brand image but to gain feedback from others in the field.
    • Set up a blog discussing my experiences in PR
    • Create a discussion forum with members of PR certificate program surrounding sports issues
    • Keep in contact with a mentor, establish a relationship and gain feedback to improve my personal brand
    • Meet with various PR practitioners, more specifically in sports & entertainment, in hopes of adding personality to my brand

    • Nov. 5 th 2009 - Develop a personal brand plan
    • Nov. 12 th 2009 - Get an account with The League of Kickass under 30
    • - Start a Linkedin account
    • - Make posts on my personal blog and on Sports NING feed {Do this constantly}
    • Nov. 26 th 2009 - Find and follow 5 people on twitter relevant to PR
    • Dec. 1 st 2009 - Find an appropriate group on Linkedin that pertains to my interests in sports and PR
    • - Engage others through social media applications to take part in our discussion forum on NING (Nuttin But Net sports discussion)
    • - Find a mentor and gain feedback on what I can do to better convey my personal brand
    • Jan. 15 th 2010 - Have connected with 15 people through twitter (Both PR and sports related)
    • - Continue to develop the sports forum on NING
    • Feb. 1 st 2010 - Continue to engage those in my Linkedin group, further developing my relationships
    • March 1 st 2010 - Update profiles on linkedin, workopolis, monster.ca to ensure application process goes smoothly
    • May 1 st 2010 - Have connected with 25 people through twitter related to my brand
    • Sept. 1 st 2010 - Get a job in PR (HOPEFULLY  )
