  • FUEL Milwaukee’s New to Milwaukee team along with Historic Milwaukee hosted and led a Scavenger Hunt at the Milwaukee Art Museum’s MAM After Dark event on December 18 th MAM After Dark is a monthly art happening at the Art Museum that draws on average 1200 people from all over the area Our team’s hope was to gain exposure and visibility for Historic Milwaukee at a venue that already draws great attendance Roughly 80 individuals registered and paid online directly at HMI’s web site to obtain discounted tickets to attend the MAM After Dark event Over 40 people attended the HMI presentation in The Lubar Auditorium, which was followed by the scavenger hunt Our team deemed the meet up a success because we made more impressions than expected (we were shooting for 50 registrants) and gained four new Historic Milwaukee volunteers.
  • Our team wanted to keep the momentum going so we decided to host a meet up in March. We chose a Milwaukee Trivia theme because we not only wanted people to come out and have fun, but we also wanted our meet up to continue to align with our mission of being resourceful and educational as it relates to our community and the Milwaukee region. We excitedly secured Adam Carr, producer at 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, to be our emcee for the night Café Corazon, a great new neighborhood restaurant that opened up to revive the Riverwest area, kindly shut business down for the night to host our event Over 50 people registered for the event Over 50 people attended the event Again, the team deemed the meet up a success because we were hoping for at least 40 people and we were at full capacity! The event drew a few more volunteers for Historic Milwaukee and new fans on their Facebook Page The team and Historic Milwaukee share great synergy and as a result the brainstorming of ideas for meet ups have not only been creative and different, but also refreshing and enjoyable for members of FUEL and Historic Milwaukee to gain enough interest to get involved either at an event or as a volunteer. The team is currently working on a summer meet up to do another Milwaukee trivia night featuring Adam Carr again as the emcee at a different venue to spice things up a little. There is also another opportunity to collaborate with MAM After Dark again in the Fall.
