  • 3. To avoid your cover letter and resume being slam dunked into the trash can,here are a few tips for the best cover letter:
  • 4. Got Connections? Use Them! - Sometimes, employers feel obligated to at least give someone a chance at the job if they haveconnections with individuals already within the company.
  • 5. Use Names- If you know the name of the person that will be reading your cover letter and resume, use their name at the beginning of your cover letter.
  • 6. Write in a Conversational Tone- While this is a business letter, you should write as if you are having a conversation.
  • 7. Proofread - Individuals looking to land a new job shouldhave their cover letter and resume proofread before sending
  • 8. First Paragraph– You want to inform the reader of how you came across the job posting
  • 9. Second Paragraph– Discuss your related experience and how you meet or surpass the mandatory credentials
