System Integration – Unique Entity Number (UEN) <ul><li>Project led by MOF & ACRA, and supported by IDA (InfoComm Development Authority) </li></ul><ul><li>A standardised identification number for entities registered in Singapore </li></ul><ul><li>Aims to: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Streamline the various identification numbers used by government agencies to bring about greater convenience to the entities. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Provide government agencies with a standard identification number to facilitate online verification of business entities. </li></ul></ul>

UEN – Background Information <ul><li>Prior to 2009, business entities transact with government agencies using different numbers issued by the agencies </li></ul><ul><li>With the implementation of the UEN on 1 Jan 2009, entities use the UEN to transact with 84 government agencies </li></ul><ul><li>The ACRA number is used by 85% of the entities </li></ul><ul><li>UEN system interface with BizFile for the updates of new business entities </li></ul>

Data Services - OSCABS An e-Government initiative by ACRA that was launched in May 2004 <ul><li>To a llow subscribers to receive updates on addresses of entities registered with ACRA </li></ul><ul><li>To cut red tape by eliminating the needs for businesses to inform each and every government agency separately on the change of their addresses </li></ul><ul><li>To make it more convenient for businesses to transact with the government </li></ul>One-stop Corporate Address Broadcasting Service
    • 14. <ul><li>Data is transferred on a daily basis to subscribers using the Secured File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) via Secure Shell (SSH) Protocol </li></ul><ul><li>Subscribing agency must provide the Internet Protocols (IP) address for the file transfer and the exchange public keys </li></ul><ul><li>Transmitted data includes: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Addresses of new companies, businesses and LLPs </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>New addresses of existing companies, businesses and LLPs </li></ul></ul>How Does OSCABS Work?

Data Services - Web Services <ul><li>Launched on 1 st February 2006 </li></ul><ul><li>Offers 17 predetermined queries that subscribers’ software applications can call to access real time data from ACRA </li></ul><ul><li>Each query has a different cost ranging from $0.20 to $2.50 </li></ul>An example of a subscriber application

GWS-X (Government Web Services Exchange ) provides an infrastructure to connect government agencies together and also provides a gateway to connect government agencies with private sector organizations using the web services technology. GWS-Xchange verifies consumer ACRA’s Web Services will verify the request and pass requested information via the GWS-X BizFile Database Request from Consumer / Subscriber’s Applications ACRA How Does Web Services Work?

Data Services - BizHub <ul><li>Provides 48 tables of information on business entities </li></ul><ul><li>Each table is priced based on the nature of information </li></ul><ul><li>Subscribers may choose tables of information and frequency of transmission </li></ul><ul><li>Format in which data is transmitted is XML </li></ul><ul><li>Service can be subscribed by public and private sector agencies </li></ul>
    • 18. How Does BizHub Work? Data tables are transmitted as XML files to the agencies via secure File Transfer Protocol (sFTP) ACRA sFTP server Agencies receive data updates based on their preferred frequency
