  2. 2. Start each day with expectation …life usually lives up to your expectations. When you get up, make your first thought – “something great is going to happen today”
  3. 3. Take time to plan & prioritise …the most common form of stress is the perception that you’ve got too much to do. Pick one thing to do, that is important. If you complete it you’ll move closer to your highest goal
  4. 4. Give a gift to everyone you meet …not a formal gift, but a smile, a nod, or a word of thanks or encouragement
  5. 5. Deflect partisan conversations …arugements about politics or religion never have a right or wrong answer! When such topics come up say something like: “Thinking about that kind of stuff makes my head hurt”
  6. 6. Assume people have good intentions …since you can’t read minds why bother trying. Inputting evil motives into other people’s weird behaviour only adds extra misery to life. Assuming good intentions leaves you open to reconciliation
  7. 7. Eat high quality food slowly …it’s difficult to avoid shoving food in when you’re on the go. At least once a day try have something delicious… Focus on it, taste it, savour it
  8. 8. Let go of your results …once you’ve taken action there is usually nothing more you can do. Focus on the job at hand, rather than some weird fantasy of what might happen
  9. 9. Turn off background TV …TV often makes you more dissatisfied with your life and encourages you to buy more – this is the stuff that ads are made of. If you’re not engaged in whats on the TV just turn it off
  10. 10. End each day with gratitude …before you go to sleep each night, think one great thing that happened today, and be grateful for it. The great thing could another motorist on the road being courteous, or you making a child laugh
