  • 1. WH – questions We use a WH – questions to ask for information.
  • 2. WH – questions • A wh – questions begins with a questions word. Questions words are: • Who, whom, what, which, whose, where, when, why, and only one exception: how. • As “Wh – questions” em inglês são as palavras que são usadas para fazer perguntas e elas têm este nome porque maioria delas começam com WH exceto o “How”.
  • 3. Form • Most wh – questions begin with a question word + an auxiliary verb + the subject. Ex: What is Kitty doing? Where are you from? A maior parte das questões com WH começam com Palavras de questões+ verbo auxiliar+ sujeito.
  • 4. What • What (o que, que, qual) What is your last name? What are you doing now What is your address?
  • 5. Which • Which (o que, que, qual): é usado quando se dá opções. Which color do you prefer: black or green? Which ice cream do you want: strawberry or vanilla?
  • 6. Who • Who (quem) Who are you? Who run the World? Who is doing the dishes?
  • 7. Whom • Whom (quem) – é usado como o objeto da pergunta. Whom did you kiss at the party? With whom did Peter go?
  • 8. Where • Where (onde) Where is the supermarket? Where are you studying now? Where are you and your parents planning to go on your next vacation?
  • 9. Whose • Whose (de quem) Whose backpack is this? Whose books and notebooks are these? Whose pencil is this?
  • 10. Why • Why (por que) Why are you studying English at this school? Why are you sleeping during the class Why are you driving so fast?
  • 11. When • When (quando) When is your birthday? When are you going to graduate? When are you going to come back?
  • 12. How • How (como) How do you usually go to work? How is your family? How much is it?
