  12. In any case… I was going to be a “hot shot”
  13. But…
  14. When I actually went to the classes, I ended up disliking most of them

  16. In fact it was dawning on me that my desire for the

  18. Fancy stuff
  19. And…
  20. The Fame Fame
  21. Was a little misguided…
  22. I started to realise I actually had NO IDEA what I wanted to do after college
  23. The one thing I really did enjoy
  24. Was making presentations
  25. And… I was good at them
  26. And… I was good at them
  27. I ate, slept and drank all things presentation
  28. Books by the like of
  29. Garr Reynolds and Nancy Duarte
  30. Garr Reynolds and Nancy Duarte
  31. Inspired me
  32. And books on data viz by
  33. Stephen Kossyln and Edward Tufte

  35. Changed the way I looked at presenting information
  36. But…
  37. I knew that I couldn’t make a living out of presentations alone
  38. I wasn’t made for self-employment
  39. That was for crazy “Entrepreneurs”
  40. A rare breed of person we were often told of…
  41. People like: Jobs
  42. People like: Branson
  43. People like: Zuckerberg
  44. These “Entrepreneurs” did things like
  45. Climb mountains
  46. Take over the world
  47. Retain infinite levels of confidence
  48. And miscellaneous other things I knew I couldn’t do!
  49. So… I continued on, a little puzzled…

  53. And I was no closer to finding out what I wanted to do
  54. Things looked bleak
  55. So, one weekend it dawned on me
  56. With nothing to lose I may as well give it a shot
  57. I had a think about how I could use my skills to make my own Job
  58. I sketched out a few ideas, and started making plans
  59. And I spent that weekend working like mad to Make. It. Happen!
  60. By the end of the weekend it was done, the site was up and the business cards were on the way
  61. I set up twitter and started to talk to the world
  62. I will admit, things started out slow
  63. But now, I am happy to say they are up and running and going nicely
  64. What's more I love it
  65. What's more I LOVE it
  66. I have worked with a great variety of clients Mr. Unsure Mr. Big Biz Ms. Clear
  67. On projects I have loved Mr. Unsure Mr. Big Biz Ms. Clear
  68. But in the end it is my job to make sure they are Mr. Unsure Mr. Big Biz Ms. Clear
  69. But in the end it is my job to make sure they are Mr. Happy Mr. Happy Ms. Happy
  70. When I look back at the aspirations the old me had, I cringe a little…
  71. I have replaced them with better things now…
  72. An appreciation for control over how I spend my time
  73. A desire for Balance
  74. And instead of fancy stuff, I’m happy with the simple stuff
  75. A better set of goals some might say
  76. And…
  77. The one thing I have learnt is that
  78. I was Wrong
  79. Starting a business is not impossible… and…
  80. If I can do it
