We have several options so job seekers can select the degree of employer access that best meets the needs of their job search.When a job seeker logs in to their ClearedJobs.Net account home page they will have access to the following settings:
This relates to the Profile the job seeker completed when registering on ClearedJobs.Net. Their profile information includes name, security clearance, city, state, zip, phone and email. If the job seeker selects "Make private" their Profile information is not viewable by employers; if they select "Make public" this information is viewable by employers. Keep in mind that Public vs. Private has nothing to do with whether a job seeker's resume is viewable by employers. That is controlled by....
If a job seeker's resume is searchable it can be viewed by recruiters if it matches the recruiter's search criteria. A job seeker may want to make their resume unsearchable if they don't want to be contacted by recruiters, yet still want the flexibility to apply for jobs, register for job fairs, save job searches and set up job search agents.
Selecting inactive is a quick way to shut your account down yet still keep your information for future use. For example if you just accepted a job offer and want to stop your search, select Inactive. If a job seeker wants their resume to be searchable but doesn't want recruiters to know their name, the job seeker can edit their resume and remove some of the distinctive identifying information such as name, company and job title as necessary. In this case the job seeker also needs to make their Profile Private so that information is not viewable by a recruiter. The recruiter is able to send an email to the job seeker, but cannot see the job seeker's email address.
