this worcester life

mike elliott - spring 2010

the elevator pitch

A monthly radio show focusing on stories of life in Worcester and surrounding environs.

like what?

Academic research. History. Culture. Arts. Anecdotes. Day-to-day life. If it’s happening in Worcester and it’s interesting, TWL will take a look.

this sounds familiar.

Every week, Ira Glass (and company) deliver the fantastic This American Life on the radio. Worcester is an untapped gold mine for stories like those on TAL --and it’s time they someone dug them up.

so how’s this going to work?

All great projects start small. TWL will start on Radio of Clark U. From there, the itinerary calls for podcasting through the iTunes Store, hooking up with other college stations in the area, and ultimately getting on the FM dial.

why you should vote for twl

things TWL needs to succeed:

- digital voice recorders ($$)

- audio editing software ($$$)

- publicity (people can’t tell us stories if they don’t know about us!)

- students (someone’s got to do these interviews!)

help tell tomorrow’s stories

vote for this worcester life in U-Reka 2010

email [email_address] if you’re interested in becoming part of twl
