The City of Puyallup and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) worked together to redesign and rehabilitate the 2nd St NE Bypass crossing in Downtown Puyallup over the weekend of May 11th, 2013. The goals of the rehabilitation were to replace the failing asphalt pavement, resurface the railroad bed and provide a more durable crossing surface that was more conducive to future railroad maintenance.

The crossing was closed at approximately 5:30 pm on Friday, May 10th and all work was completed over the weekend in time for the road to open at 8:00 am Monday, May 13th.
