  • 1. 1 Population Impact – 1st Appliance Attendance Times Draft 5th London Safety Plan (LSP5) Overview: This brief sets out the impact of the proposed cuts on the populations, taking into account ward population numbers. It focuses on the changes to the first appliance attendance time. Only 3 wards move from outside the target time to inside while 43 (39 minus the City of London wards) move from within the 6 minute target time to outside Nearly 4million Londoners will see their 1st appliance attendance time worsen, while only 1.2million will see their attendance time improve Over 1million Londoners living in the most deprived wards will see their 1st appliance attendance time worsen while only 34k who live in these wards will see an improvement in their attendance times Wards moving from inside the 6minute target time to outside the target time compared to those moving from outside to inside the target time The draft LSP5 highlights that more Boroughs will now be within the 6 minute average target time for the 1st appliance. When this is looked at a Ward level, only 3 wards move from outside the target time to inside while 43 (39 minus the City of London wards) move from within the 6 minute target time to outside. That is 514,159 Londoners who are now outside the average target time for the 1st appliance attendance compared to only 31,678 who our now within the target time.
