  2. 2. Overview <ul><li>Hello! my name is Cari Ann Honda </li></ul><ul><li>I started school in 1994 in Wailuku </li></ul><ul><li>I graduated from H.P. Baldwin High School in 2007. </li></ul><ul><li>I first went to college at the University of Hawaii Manoa in 2007. </li></ul><ul><li>When I finish my degree, I hope to become either a Japanese or Chemistry teacher. </li></ul>
  3. 3. My definition of educational technology … a way of enhancing student learning and promoting creativity by using new tools, resources, etc.

  5. 5. Kindergarten technology I remember using the original Macintosh computer and floppy discs.
  6. 6. High school technology <ul><li>My chemistry teacher used a video presenter for her lectures and demonstrations. </li></ul><ul><li>Graphing calculators were required for my math classes. </li></ul>
  7. 7. College technology <ul><li>Many of my classes are using iclickers to assess student learning. </li></ul><ul><li>Most of my professors use powerpoint. </li></ul><ul><li>Many of my classes have online websites for assignments, notes, etc. </li></ul>
  8. 8. A vivid technology learning experience <ul><li>Using video and Final Cut to make a video for my chemistry final project. </li></ul><ul><li>Using Skype to talk to a student in Japan for my Japanese class. </li></ul>
  9. 9. A technology I want to use in my classroom <ul><li>I would want a class website so that students could have access to their lessons and assignments from anywhere. Also I could post links to references that I think are important. </li></ul>
  10. 10. My vision of the classroom of the future I hope that all students will use technology to not only to connect with their classmates, but to also connect with and learn from other people around the world.
  11. 11. A challenge for teaching <ul><li>At best financially, most schools will probably never be able to have at least one computer per student. </li></ul>
