  • Why IT Process Automation?Due to the adoption of advanced IT and SAP landscapes, IT is being asked to do more with less faster while reducing risks and ensuring a higher quality of service delivery. What does IT Process Automation deliver?A solution that reduces the Total Cost of Ownership of IT and goes beyond monitoring by standardizing, unifying, and automating the best practices for SAP and IT operational processes. IT process automation is a strategic part of the Application Lifecycle Management platform for linking automation and execution of standardized best practices to optimize IT operational procedures. It moves customers from the day-to-day sustaining and reactive level, like the tasks you see here; to focus on delivering value to the business. With Automation, an organization can reduce TCO and quickly refocus high valued resources to strategic initiatives.
  • The continuous optimization process:Analyzes and documents the root cause of major incidents (coming from the incident management process), or negative indicators / trends / events (coming from the central monitors). Once the root cause is clear, the optimization process determines and documents if and how the root cause can be solved. In case there are no realistic solving options, the optimization process looks for improvement potential for the central monitors, to be able to detect the same in future ideally before the business is impactedFinally the appropriate change procedure is being triggered. In case of an improvement proposal of the central monitors, a new Run SAP like a Factory project might be triggered. Overall, the customer will gain a significant and continuous improvement in software and IT service quality.

  • A couple of key features that SAP ITPA delivers out the box is the ability to consume alerts from CCMS or Solution Manager and automate the application incident response process to deliver higher IT operations efficiencies including reducing mean time to repair (MTTR), and to increase IT personnel effectiveness by automating repetitive tasks associated with IT operations processes. One can be quickly model resolution content or use predefined corrective processes based on SAP best practices for issue resolution.Advanced IT Process Reporting delivers auditing and reporting capabilities that are essential for managing IT operational processes and SAP best practices, and to fully report on how the processes are executed in line with established policies and service levels. It has a Visual Configuration Environment that provides a rich drag-and-drop environment for creating process flows. It includes over 400+ out-of-the-box flow activities and processes that can be easily reused across your SAP applications, including SAP HANA. Its modeling language reduces the need for scripting and enables workflow creation that is optimized for modeling best practices content for implementing and managing IT operations processes. It also has avisually guided mode that has the ability to incorporate human approvals, governance check-pointsand guided IT operational processes. All of this capability is deployed with no agents, a small footprint and integrates with existing monitoring tools, thus allowing IT to leverage existing investments.

  • 16. Customer Story: Implema• Leading Swedish SAP Supplier for SME• SAP Partner Edge Gold• Nordic Partner of the Year 2009• First to sell SAP on Demand in Sweden 2011
  • 17. Why automation is needed?• Seeking to be proactive with the systems we manage and not reactive• SAP is a strategic platform and needs to be available 24/7/365• Simply hiring more SAP expertise would not allow us to keep pace with business needs & would not increase efficiency of managing environments• Want to reduce potential for notifications of SAP issues from the users• Hardware level monitoring does not report on application level events (system dumps, user timeouts, extended runtimes, etc.)
  • 18. Why Cisco?• Provides one system that simplifies SAP performance management across environment• Enables proactive approach through: – automated daily checklist monitoring – intelligent alerts for user lockouts – intelligent alerts for system and hardware performance• Supports more efficient staff deployment – SAP experts can focus on new modules or functionality – Supporting staff can take on many daily SAP management tasks with Cisco TEO to help them
