  • 3. 1. NATIONAL FESTIVALS 1.Republic Day (October, 29) 2.New Year Day (January, 1) 3.National Sovereignty and Children Day (April,23) 4.Youth and Sports Day (May, 19) 5.Victory Day (August, 30)
  • 4. REPUBLIC DAY • The Republic of Turkey founded on 29th October 1923.
  • 5. NEW YEAR DAY • It is celebrated with some concerts and enjoyable activities.
  • 6. National Sovereignty and Children Day • The first Turkish National Parliament is composed by Atatürk. • Atatürk presented to the children all over the World.
  • 7. Youth and Sports Day • The Turkish Independence War was started when Atatürk went to Samsun. • This day is presented to youths, because youths are the future of a country.
  • 8. VICTORY DAY • Turkey won the Independence War at the end of World War I.
  • 9. 2. RELIGIOUS FESTIVALS 1.The Festival of Ramadan 2.The Festival of Sacrifice
  • 10. The Festival of Ramadan • Muslims don’t eat something to understand the poor people for 30 days. Later, they celebrate this ritual. • They eat some special foods for the festival.
  • 11. THE FESTIVAL OF SACRIFICE • People kiss each other and go to their relatives’ and friends’ houses.
