    • Available for overnight checkout
    • For students to do schoolwork at home
    • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
    • Must complete application (including parent’s signature) and orientation.
  • 3. CHECK OUT
    • Sign-up for laptop ahead of time at the check-out counter.
    • You must have your student ID to check the laptop out.
    • Pick up laptop after school.
    • Return by 8:15 am the next day.
    • If you are absent from school on the day the laptop is due, please call us. The phone number is on the cover of the laptop).
  • 4. INTERNET
    • If you can pick up a wireless signal where you live, or at a place like the public library, you will probably be able to access the Internet from the laptop.
  • 5. USE AND CARE
    • Keep food and drink away from laptop.
    • Use laptop on a flat surface.
    • Attach and use power cord/charger whenever possible.
  • 6. LOGIN
    • Turn laptop on
    • “ Workstation Only” must be checked.
    • User name is student
    • There is no password.
    • Press “Enter”
  • 7. SAVING DOCUMENTS
    • Documents must be saved to a USB flash drive OR uploaded to School Web Blockers
    • Each laptop includes instructions on how to save to a flash drive.
  • 8. SAVING DOCUMENTS ON A FLASH DRIVE
    • Insert device carefully into USB port on the back of the laptop.
  • 9.
    • To open flash drive– go to “Computer” icon on Desktop. Select “Removable Disk”
    • To Save document to the flash drive:
    • Go to “Save As.”
    • Select Save in “Removable Disc.”
    • Name document.
    • Click on “Save” button.
  • 10. ENDING YOUR SESSION
    • Close all programs
    • Shut down the computer
    • Place the laptop, power cords and flash drive (if checked out) in the computer case.
  • 11. REMEMBER…
    • The complete unit (laptop, charger, and case) MUST be returned in person to a library staff member by 8:15 am the next school day .
    • Do not loan the laptop to another person or leave it unattended while taking it to and from school.
    • Borrowing privileges will be lost if laptops are damaged, misused or turned in late.
