  • ChrisJCook ChrisJCook commented on Who Pays? An excellent presentation! In my view, the key to a more equitable system is to connect producers directly "Peer toPeer" with consumers as much as possible, and to engage with service providers like transport/logistics/ storage on a revenue-sharing basis of revenue. ie cut out the middlemen, and the shareholders who own them, as much as possible. To achieve this requires cross border agreements, and that’s one of the things we are beavering away on up here in Scotland, with increasing success. This presentation might be of interest .... http://www.slideshare.net/ChrisJCook/social-investment-mechanism-12-03-09 2 months ago

  • ChrisJCook ChrisJCook commented on Equity Shares - A Solution to the Credit Crash @nbtgm1 Actually I’m not assuming that at all. Investors can sell Units at any time: it makes no difference whatever to the occupiers. So any stakeholder in the property development cycle who receives Units in payment can keep them as an investment for the income, or sell them to another long term investor, or to an occupier. It’s essentially a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) with the additional attraction for investors that if they can’t sell them to other investors, they can certainly sell them to occupiers, who could then use them against rental. 4 months ago
  • ChrisJCook ChrisJCook commented on Petro Clearing January 2009 Farsi 4 Correct. This partnership-based mechanism is both optimal, and ethical, and also, I believe, in accordance with Islamic principles. P2P credit within a guarantee society framework is risk-sharing which is analogous to takaful. P2P investment within a revenue-sharing Capital Partnership is analogous to musharakah. 8 months ago
