  • 6. Getting a list of Keywords using Overture
    • Go to Inventory.ocverture.com
    • Type your chosen keyword into the get suggestions box
    • The results gives you two column
    • The first column describes the number of searches
    • The second column describes the keyword/phrase searched for
    • Go trough the list and copy all phrases that apply to your keyword/idea
  • 7. Getting a list of Keywords using Overture
    • Next copy and search the subcategories for more keywords…
    • Goal one is to come up with as many keywords as possible, aim for 40+ as a minimum
    • Goal two is to come up with at least 10 product name keywords out of the list for domains selected
  • 8. Demand
    • The number beside the phrase column in Overture tool shows the demand for that keyword
    • Take a note of this number
    • Again, get as many phrases and numbers as you can 40+ for the keyword/phrase
    • Best to gather phrases with over 1000 searches
    • Use a spread sheet to for this. (create one for use)

  • 10. Competition
    • Lets go to Google.com
    • In the search box type in the following phrase: (allintitle:"yourphrase")
    • Replace the your phrase with your first keyword phrase from the Overture research and enter
    • check the number in the results for the search,
    • This type of search will only bring up the competition that use the exact phrase their title.
  • 11. Competition
    • So the allintitle tells us the number of sites using that phrase in the title of their site
    • This is then an indicator of how many sites are already using that phrase
    • We want to focus on the phrases that are less competitive but high search volume
  • 12. Analyzing the results
    • You should go through the list and highlight the phrases that fits the following criteria
    • 25'000 monthly search volume Broad and Phrase match on google keywordtools
    • Less than 15,000 sites from the allintitle search
    • SOME INDUSTRIES WILL DIFFER SO YOU MAY WANT TO DO LESS THAN 20.000 SEARCHES ALLINTITLE…
  • 13. Analyzing the results
    • This type of research will give you the best phrases
    • Decide which of these phrases are best for your site
    • Check with cheap cheap domains for the keyword availability
  • 14. Another way to research your keywords is via ebay
    • Go to ebay.com (sign up if you don't have an buyers account)
    • Click on the advance search
    • Enter your keyword for your product idea
    • Check the "completed listings only" box
    • Click the search button
  • 15. Another way to research your keywords is via ebay
    • The results that come up show you what is selling on ebay
    • Look at the price in the list
    • The prices in green are the product that have been sold
    • The prices in red are items that have not been sold
    • Take note of what is selling and what's not selling
  • 16. Another way to research your keywords is via ebay
    • Is there is a good amount of your keyword/product being sold
    • This can indicate that is a good keyword/product

    • Create a log spreadsheet
    • Create a long list of keywords phrases
    • Find out the demand and competition for your chosen phrases
    • Analyze the numbers and highlight your best phrases
    • Look over the phrases and decide on the ones you want to use according to them matching up to your criteria

    • Check the popularity of your product on other site like Ebay or Amazon or ClickBank by conducting listing researches
