  • 1. It all begins with the fundamentals. A special presentation by Chris Shugart
  • 2. The ideal scene for most any commercial website is to attract prospects to your site who are likely to be interested in your products or services. But online advertising is different from other media in a very important way. It’s ideally suited for two-way communication. Your site needs to be more than an elaborate online brochure. It should engage your customers in way to which they’ll be eager to respond.
  • 3. Far from being magic, a website is built on the fundamentals of effective communication━plus a little bit of IT expertise. Well organized Information Architecture Simple User Interface Search Engine Friendly Content
  • 4. An attractive look is an important element for any website. But as most web developers will tell you, “content is king.” Without valuable content, your site is nothing. The diagram on the left is a “user experience honeycomb” designed by Internet consultant and author Peter Morville. It illustrates the essential characteristics of a superior quality website. Providing your public with valuable content is the name of the game. All of your visual elements should serve a single purpose: attract visitors, provide them with a reason to stay, and encourage them to return again and again.
  • 5. You'll find that the best online marketing campaigns are a combination of analytical strategy and creative vision. Marketing experts and authors Al and Laura Ries described it as a balance between left-brain logic and right brain intuition. It's an ideal combination that will give you good, consistent results. “Effective communication should always be the bottom line. It’s not just important, it’s absolutely vital” ━ Chris Shugart Copyright © 2013 Chris Shugart. All rights reserved
