2. How to sketch
What does sketching mean? It means , a rough or unfinished drawing or
painting , often made to assist in making a more finished product . Before any sketching
can be started, you need to clarify what type of sketching you would like to have ,
because there are many types of sketching ,for example inked sketches pencil,
sketches and coloured sketches. After that, the materials you need to prepare before
you start sketching, the materials are a set of different types of pencils , desired size of
papers and finally a set of water colouring tools or oil paint or charcoal .
The next step is to not be intimidated by the blank sheet of paper staring at you .
Whenever you want to sketch, you have to relax and loosen up and allow yourself to be
inspired by your surroundings . If you allow your mind to run wild , your sketching will
appear nothing like the real thing .After you are done with your sketching , don't be sad
and be discouraged by the end product. A poor drawing is not and should not be the
last, because practice makes perfect . Before producing an attractive sketch, the most
important thing to do is to choose a right topic. However , if you have problems
choosing a subject , it is better to start off with something you have personal attachment
with as a warm up. Let the inspiration come to you. Make sure to observe your sketch
from a different angle and point of view. By doing that, you get to enjoy the beauty of
your object. Besides that, it will also help you to improve your perspective on your
sketch .
Once you are done with all the preparation, use a 2H pencil to draw the basic
shape. Avoid pressing too hard since it may leave a mark and so cause a lot of trouble
3. when erasing it off. This may affect your sketch. After that, use a B or 2B pencil to start
with your basic sketch . Only that this time, add in more details into it. In addition,
remember to make sure that the scene is in good proportion. After all that, you can start
using a lighter pencil, such as H and HB pencil, to add in the texture. Before the texture
process can be started, please do some experiment before adding it onto your paper
you were sketching on. Once you are done with your sketch, please remember to
double check on your sketch. You have to be really patient when you're doing your
double checking. As you double check, mistakes shall review themselves to you . After
realizing your mistake, do avoid erasing any small part of your sketch since it will be
hard to replace it .
After you have done with your sketching , it is time to colour your sketch .
A coloured sketch is able to attract people’s attention and allows them to be
mesmerized by your sketch . When colouring your sketch , it is important that you take
note to be careful on the combination of colours as a weak combination of colours will
affect your end product. In a nutshell, one must always remember that sketching is a
passion and anyone can produce a sketch as long they possess strong determination
and is passionate about it. Keep on practising using the correct techniques mentioned
to produce your very own attractive sketch.
These will be the steps of producing an attractive sketch , you have to do your
research on what the public wants and loves . Colour is one of the ways to attract
people's attention to your design and enhance their ability to imagine the scene your
4. experienced. If you have any free time to spare , I highly recommend that you should
practice more because practice makes perfection . By doing research on how to create
an attractive sketch , i realize that i have much to learn and space to improve in
sketching .
