  • 4. Chelsea Dazed & Confused 1. What kind of things are in the magazine? • Fashion, music, art, photography 2. Who is the audience/target audience? How do you know? (look at cover, adverts, style of writing, length of articles etc) a. Niche or mass audience? Why? • Niche audience. The magazine contains topics such as art, music and culture, aimed at a niche audience of sophisticated young adults (19-24) who have an interest in these topics, as well as non-mainstream music. 3. How is the magazine organised/structures? • Minimalistic. The cover usually has a headshot of the months cover star and the articles are mostly plain text with images strategically arranged to look slightly out of place in the text.

Extension: How does this connect to target audience? • 6. Where is the magazine available? • Bookstores (whsmith etc.) and newsagents.

Where could your double-page spread, which is an article that features your documentary, fit in? • As the magazine has a futuristic element to it, our double page spread could fit in amongst the technological side of the magazine

Extension: How does this connect to target audience? • Our target audience is all genders of all ages so the audience of this magazine would be interested. • 6. Where is it magazine available? • All good, leading bookstores.

(look at cover, adverts, style of writing, length of articles etc) • a. Niche or mass audience? Why? • Niche audience. Lover of rock/punk/alternative music. Mostly teenagers age 16-19. • 3. How is the magazine organised/structures? • a. Where could your double-page spread, which is an article that features your documentary, fit in? • As this is a genre-specific music magazine, our double page spread may not fit in with the theme of the magazine.

How could your documentary fit into this? • Could possibly reach the audience of music lovers and fit in somewhere within the magazine? • 5. By looking at the adverts, what do they advertise? (products, services?) • Concerts/gig tickets • a. Extension: How does this connect to target audience? • Young people who would use the internet to purchase their tickets and social networks to talk about fave bands/artists etc. • 6. Where is it magazine available? • Newsagents and bookstores.

Where could your double-page spread, which is an article that features your documentary, fit it? • It could fit in somewhere in the middle as a main article as it is a modern topic for all ages to read about.

How is the magazine organised/structures? • a. Where could your double-page spread, which is an article that features your documentary, fit it? • Perhaps towards the end of the magazine.

Extension: How does this connect to target audience? • Our target audience is a wide range of people, so this reaches a portion of our audience • 6. Where is it magazine available? • Bookstores, newsagents

  • 19. Rosalin The Wire The Wire is a magazine dedicated to music – especially undiscovered musicians. In this magazine the tone could be described as calm and peaceful due to the use of white, cream and light shades of brown. This is the front cover of the magazine and we can see that it uses special effects and is an example of visual hierarchy.

Russ Most of the content of the magazine was about science fiction i.e Doctor Who This is article is targeted at young adults or those who have watched the original version of ‘Carrie’ because it is a remake of the film ‘Carrie’ This is targeted towards a mass audience because those who have watched the old ‘Carrie’ might want to compare the difference between the then and now ‘Carrie’ My double spread page article would be placed in the middle of the magazine because it is where most article that are about upcoming movies/ documentaries The magazine contained articles about the history of ‘Doctor Who’ and the up and coming new episodes of ‘Doctor who’ The adverts are mostly about upcoming films mostly sci-fi and/or thriller and horror films Magazines like these would be available at super markets or bookstores.

The Classic Rock magazine is mostly about bands, and their upcoming songs This is article is targeted at towards 18-25 yr olds This is targeted towards a niche audience because most of the younger generation would prefer to listen to newer songs which mostly revolves around rnb and rap My double spread page article would be placed in the middle of the magazine because it is where most article that are about upcoming movies/ documentaries The magazine contained articles about different bands or solo artists talking about how they became known or what they are going through interms of their career Magazines like these would be available music stores such as HMV
