    • We want to do everything we can to set you up for success! Take a few minutes to read through this deck where we've provided some simple steps for setting up a successful campaign page and tips for promoting it. Build a compelling campaign Promote, Promote, Promote! So you launched your first Check-in for Good campaign… Now what? There<s no doubt crowd-funding is a powerful and effective tool for raising money, but In order to have a successful campaign you have to:
    • The first step in running a successful crowdfunding campaign… Make your page compelling and your cause clear CRAFT  YOUR  STORY How would you tell your story if you were talking to a friend? Make your text conversational and concise. Remember that you don<t need to write a novel to get your point across. Make your cause relatable by answering the following set of questions: What is your goal? Having a clearly defined goal is IMPERATIVE when asking for support. Are you facing a challenge? Explain. How do you plan to overcome a challenging situation? How, specifically, will the people who support your campaign be helping you? Aka where exactly will the money be going to. Is there someone special in your life you are raising money for? Talk about your relationship. Who are you as a person? Let people see the real you and be honest with them.
    • Use compelling photos and video Imagery will always be more compelling to viewers than text. While including pictures is awesome, video gives you the opportunity to connect with supporters in a new way. Show off your personality and passion by creating a short slideshow or example of the cause youNre supporting.
    • Test it! Family and friends will no doubt be your first supporters so ask them to review your campaign page. Is your message clear and concise? Have you clearly defined your goal? Is your content compelling? Do you have enough supporting visuals?
    • At Check-in for Good we<ve created simple, social shares for easy promotion via Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. Take the time to look at your audience for each one and determine where your cause will find the most success Look at who makes up your community. Share your message with local newspapers and TV reporters via social media. It<s part of their job to be actively searching for stories on social networks. It<s a great way to raise your visibility and public interest. Do some research to see which social network will help you best reach your target demographic. 21% 63% 16%
    • Create a Strategy We will get into campaign promotion in a moment, but it<s important to sit down and come up with ways you will engage your supporters throughout your campaign. For example, maybe create weekly video updates with your smart phone, thank your supporters with personal messages via social media, or use new photos to promote a call to action. Don<t be afraid to be a copycat! Go look at what other successful campaigns are doing to stand out and see if their tactics can work for you.
    • Use every tool at your disposal Spread your campaign using Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest, but don't forget to branch out on platforms like Google+ and LinkedIn where you may find a different audience of supporters. 1520 Likes 2000 Tweets 654 Pins Write a press release and send it to websites and publications you think might be interested in publishing a story on your project (you<ll be amazed at how often this works.) Create a blog about your campaign. There are hundreds of sites that let you start free blogs. (Try www.wordpress.com) Explain how the campaign has evolved and give updates on how it is going. Ask people for feedback and talk to them about your ideas.
    • You don<t have to be a social media guru to host a successful crowdfunding campaign, but you do need to be willing to embrace its power. Social media is connecting people in ways they've never been connected before. It's the perfect platform to build a support system for your cause. You<ve built a compelling campaign; now promote your campaign by following a few simple steps.
    • Actively engage on social media Promoting your campaign needs to be a daily process. By engaging with supporters and media you will increase your online community that will ultimately help your campaign succeed. We recommend posting at least once a day on Facebook and Pinterest and between five and 10 times a day on Twitter. Also, the more key influencers you can directly reach out to the better. When we say key influencers we mean people who are actively talking about your campaign topic. To start, do a key word search in the Twitter search bar and see what comes up! You never know who can be a supporter. The more time you put in updating and posting content, the more followers and funds you will raise! In your social content, encourage followers to be just as passionate about your cause as you are and provide them with a call to action! Ex. `Together we can fight child poverty- view my campaign at: checkinforgood.comb Encourage people you know to share for you! Our social share feature makes it easy for you and others to share your campaign via Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. Asking for a 'RETWEET' or a 'Like' increases the sharing significantly. Don't be afraid to ask!
    • Put yourself out there Don<t forget your family and friends! Telling your own circle of friends to spread the word can help expose your project exponentially. It<s all about networking, because you never know who can help you raise funds. Unfortunately you can<t create a campaign and hope it will fund itself! We wish it were that easy, but you will be able to take your campaign to the next level by strategic and consistent promotion. $2000$1000 + $1000 =
