2. What Is This Thing We Call a Limiting
Belief?
A belief about yourself or the reality of the
world that keeps you stuck in suffering.
3. What does this look like?
Resistance to change.
Helplessness in the face of a new challenge.
Hopelessness about one’s ability to do things
differently.
4. What Does This Feel Like?
Most people experience a felt sense of
tension, heaviness, and/or cold in the body
when they are under the influence of a
limiting belief.
Also common is a freeze or collapse response in
the body.
5. What Does This Sound Like?
Just a FEW examples:
This is a dog eat dog world.
No pain no gain.
This is a man’s world.
The only person you can really count on is you!
Never show weakness.
Play is for children.
Man up.
7. From Our Past Experiences
Past experiences will influence our
ability to imagine future possibilities.
8. From Our Family of Origin
Our families are mini-cultures that help shape our
perception of ourselves, reality, and life possibilities.
Even the most supportive and fabulous families pass
down limiting belief systems.
9. Our Culture
Every culture has its own history. Some
communities have been subjected to more
adversity than other. This can make certain
communities more vulnerable to the power of
limiting beliefs.
Either way every community has a collective
consciousness that effects the people that make
up the community.
