A Spotlight on Darla Leigh Pittman Rodgers: Aaron Rodgers' Mother
Evaluation question 2
1. HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT
REPRESENT PARTICULAR SOCIAL
GROUPS?
The representation of our clones were conveyed in
many ways as we had to make each clone seem as
different as possible because despite them being
clones we wanted their personalities to be portrayed as
individuals. This means that each of the clones would
represent a different social group.
2. Popular clone
Our popular clone was filmed from many low angle shots to
express his high status and popularity. The clothes he was
wearing were bright and colourful to make the clone stand out
in a mundane setting. We also added some props such as
headphones and the use of the phone to show his social
activity when texting and smirking while doing so.
3. Angry Clone
The angry clone was filmed with lots of close ups to show the
depressed emotions on his face, we also did this to make him seem
boxed off from society. The characters use of the lift shows he is
slightly lazy as he is cutting corners and isolating himself even
further, his hunched body language also helps to convey this. The
clone is wearing a dark green hooded jumper; tracksuit bottoms and
a balaclava with his hood up in attempt to somewhat hide his
identity.
4. Nerd Clone
The nerd clone was wearing a tucked in chequered shirt and rolled
up jeans to express the social group he’s in. The props we used
such as the glasses, book and folder were also used to convey the
characters ‘geeky’ status. This stereotyped identity was also
exaggerated through the characters nervous body language and
clumsy behaviour to represent a wide variety of people who act in
this manner or fit in this social category.
5. No Identity Clone
Our last clone was one that had no stereotyped identity because we didn’t
want him to be part of any system. This character doesn’t represent any
social group because in order for him to tie in with the story he had to be as
much of an outcast as possible. We used a lot of long shots to show his
distance from society and a shot through the train window to represent the
barrier between him and reality. The props used to show he has no identity
were overalls, a backpack and a sports bag because we wanted it to seem
like he had all his belongings on his person like a traveller.
